Abstract
The 71 sections of the Act are divided into 8 Parts: Use of Water (I); Combined Irrigation Schemes (II); Water Courts (III); Servitudes (IV); General (V); Powers of the Minister in regard to Public Streams and Waters (VI); Offences and Penalties (VII); Miscellaneous (VIII).
Part I deals with use of private water, public water, rights of riparian proprietors, conditions as to use of water for irrigation and other special purposes use, and other matters. Part II provides also for the power of the Minister to establish Irrigation Boards in respect of irrigation schemes or areas.

Edition last authorized by L.N. 480/1973.Any provision inconsistent with the provisions of this Act is repealed, but the enactments listed in the Schedule shall not be affected by this Act (sect. 71).
