Regulation No. (Z/3) of 2008 concerning the instructions on livestock numbering and registration of possession of livestock.

This Regulation sets forth instructions for livestock numbering and registration processes of livestock possession according to article 4 of the Agricultural Law No. 44 of 2002. Article 2 provides some definitions and terms used in the provisions of this Regulation. Article 4 states that according to a Ministerial decision a steering committee will be established and will be mainly concerned with the numbering of livestock, as well as a technical committee for the registration of livestock farms. The Ministry establishes a project unit in all governorates in which will be carried out an improvement of livestock numbering systems, keeping records of registration and other related issues. Article 13 states that the circulation of animals is prohibited without having a number. Article 19 prevents the export of livestock (for the purposes of breeding or slaughtering) without having numbers assigned to them. All exporters should provide health certificates in case of exporting livestock. Any violations to the provisions of this Regulation will be penalized according to the Agricultural Law No. 44 of 2002 .
