Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to take measures to regulate the export, import, transportation and disposal of specified hazardous and other wastes in order to ensure accurate and smooth implementation of "the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal" and other agreements.
The Law sets out procedures and requirements for obtaining export and import approvals in order to export, import, transport or dispose of specified hazardous wastes listed in the Annexes of the Basel Convention.
The Law further provides for offences and penalties.
