Abstract
This Law aims at conserving the natural environment by protecting endangered species of wild fauna and flora.
The Prime Minister shall draft a national guideline for the conservation of the endangered species of wild fauna and flora which shall deal with matters listed in the text. The Law makes provision for the following: control of the treatment of endangered species of wild fauna and flora; prohibition and permission of taking or transferring endangered species; the prohibition of exports and imports; the registration of international endangered species; controls of businesses dealing with designated national endangered species and designated international endangered species; etc. The text further provides for regulations concerning the conservation of habitats and for programmes for the rehabilitation of natural habitats and the maintenance of viable populations. The Director-General of the Environment Agency may designate natural habitat conservation areas those areas recognized as important for the conservation of the national endangered species of wild fauna and flora. The remaining part of the Law contains penal provisions and provisions of miscellaneous nature.

The Law relating to the Regulations of Transfers of Designated Special Birds (Law No. 49 of 1972)and the Law relating to the Regulations of Transfers of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (Law No. 58 of 1987) shall be repealed.Last amended by Act No. 37 of June 14, 2019.
