Abstract
These Rules amend the Coffee (General) Rules: in rule 11 in relation with the prohibition to operate a private or commercial coffee nursery without registration by the Coffee Board of Kenya; in rule 22 in relation with the form of an agreement as mentioned in that rule; in rule 32 in relation with a marketing agency agreement; in rule 33 in relation with a bank guarantee to be given to the Board as required by section 24(1) (a) of the Coffee Act; in rule 49 in relation with post–auction trade between dealers; and in rule 62 on the Nairobi Coffee Exchange. Minor amendments are made to other rules. These Rules also insert new rules, which prohibit the licensing of a private miller or commercial miller as a coffee dealer and a dealer to be licensed as a marketing agent and delete the Eight Schedule.
