Abstract
These Regulations, made under provisions of section 147 of the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act, provide for the prevention, control and abatement of air pollution, in order to ensure clean and healthy ambient air. The Regulations concern the following matters: hazardous substances; air quality management plan; air quality standard; dioxins; emissions; emissions limit; greenhouse gas; harmful substance; internationally recognised emission standards; monitoring activity; ozone-depleting substance; pollutants. Matters covered by these Regulations concern: general prohibitions and prevention of air pollution; review of priority pollutants and permissibile levels; declaration of controlled area and preparation of air quality management plans; emission control from listed facilities; air pollution control systems; fugitive emissions control plan; occupational exposure of air pollutants; exposure to hazardous substances; application for emissions licence; methods of measurement of air pollutants; inspection and monitoring; guidelines for monitoring air pollutants; offences and penalties.
