Environmental Management and Coordination (Waste Management) Regulations, Legal Notice no. 178 of 2024.

These Regulations, implementing provisions of section 86(d) of the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act, apply to the handling, storage, transportation, segregation and destruction of waste. The Regulations cover the following matters: biomedical waste; disposal site; industrial waste; pesticides; prior informed consent; radioactive waste; treatment; waste disposal; waste management; restrictions on disposal of waste; responsibility of waste generator; cleaner production methods; segregation of waste; issuance of waste transportation licence; disposal and treatment of industrial waste; specifications concerning hazardous waste; requirement for environmental impact assessment; handling, storing and transportation of hazardous waste; issuance of export permit for hazardous waste; National waste information system; securing and packaging of biomedical waste; classification of biomedical waste; notification for transboundary movements of waste.
