Fisheries Management and Development (Recreational Fisheries) Regulations, Legal Notice no. 57 of 2024.

These Regulations, made under section 208(2)(m) of the Fisheries Management and Development Act, 2016, apply to recreational fishing and recreational fishing related activities in Kenya fishery waters. Matters covered by these Regulations include: application for a recreational fishing licence; conditions for recreational fishing, including practicing catch-and-release fishing; payment of fees; recreational fishing vessel registration; conservation and management measures, including: prohibition of buying and selling fish caught in the course of recreational fishing activities; respect of size limit for fishing; recreational fishing gears and methods restrictions; protected and prohibited fishing area; protected species; offences and penalties.
