Abstract
Within any Central Forest to which these rules apply no person shall cut or remove any tree except with written permission of a forest officer and on payment of such royalty charges as may be specified from time to time: Provided that no tree shall be so felled under these Rules unless and until it has been marked for felling by a forest officer or other person appointed for the purpose by him. Any bona fide resident of the Kakamega and Bungoma Districts may, without any charge or permit, in a Central Forest to which these Rules apply carry out activities listed in rule 3.
