Abstract
These Regulations, made under section 101 of the Petroleum Act, apply to the quality of refined petroleum products and define the following relevant terms: adulterated product; Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority; Kenya Maritime Authority; competent person; Kenya Standard; licence; load port; National Environment Management Authority; oil marketing company; refined petroleum products; storage and loading depots; transit. The Regulations cover the following matters: quality of petroleum imported; compliance with requirements of Kenya Standard; sampling and testing of imported petroleum; marking of export petroleum; marking of petroleum for use in Kenya; marking of illuminating kerosene; sampling and testing for markers; duty to report any accident involving marine fuels non-compliant with the requirements of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships; offences and penalties.
