Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Para-professionals Act, 2011 (Cap. 366).

This Act principally provides for the control, through registration and licensing, of exercise of the profession of veterinary surgeons and veterinary para-professionals. It establishes for this purpose the Kenya Veterinary Board. The Board shall be a body corporate which shall exercise general supervision and control over the training, business, practice and employment of veterinary surgeons and para-professionals in Kenya and advise the Government in relation to all aspects thereof.
The Act prohibits the practice (as defined) of veterinary surgeon or veterinary para-professional by a person or offering of animal health services by an organization or institution unless the person or organization or institution is registered with and licensed by the Board under this Act. The Act also provides rules relative to practice and provides for approval of training institutions.
