Ministerial Decree No. 482 validating the Regulation on concession in lease and tenancy of plots of forest fund.

This Ministerial Decree regulates the modalities of concession in lease and tenancy of plots of forest fund. Territorial forest management bodies shall have the right to concede in lease and tenancy of plots of forest fund for fee for short-term period of 5 years and for long-term period over 5 years. The latter can be extended for the period of 50 years. Plot of public forest (forest fund) van be concede in lease for carrying out the following forest uses: (a) agriculture (arable farming), haying, apiculture, collection of medicinal plants and alimentary forest products; (b) procurement of non-timber forest products; (c) scientific research, recreation, tourism, education and hunting; and (d) timber extraction. Lease and concession of the plots of forest land pertaining to state reserves and containing seed plantations shall be prohibited. Lease of the plots of forest land shall be regulated by the principles of continuous, rational and sustainable forest management.
