Sub-Decree on Establishing Protected Forest and Biodiversity Conservation “Prey Long”.

The sub-decree is aimed at establishing protected forest for biodiversity conservation “Prey Long” located in Kratie, Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear, and Steung Treng province.
Protected forest and biodiversity conservation “Prey Long” shall be preserved strictly in order to prevent ecosystem including water resource, biodiversity conservation, land water, soil nutrition, watershed, shelter, culture and soil erosion. Local community living inside or outside the protected forest referred in the subdecree is protected and recognized their traditional use and community ecotourism development in accordance with the law and relevant provisions still in force (Art.5). Article 6 provides for the activities which are not allowed in protected forest and biodiversity conservation “Prey Long”.
