Abstract
These Regulations lay down rules for the qualification and approval of the domestic fishing vessel; and specification of outer limits of the domestic fishing zone for domestic purse seine fishing vessels. Regulation 11 underlines that domestic fishing vessels which are licensed to fish in the Kiribati Exclusive Economic Zone beyond the Contiguous Zone, may fish in the Domestic Fishing Zone the breadth of 21 nautical miles. In addition to that, domestic fishing vessels which are operated by a joint venture fishing company or Kiribati flagged may fish in the Domestic Fishing Zone the breadth of 12 nautical miles.
