Abstract
These Regulations lay down rules for the establishment, function and powers of the Kiribati Seafood Verification Agency under the Fisheries Act; powers of the authorized officers; regulation, licensing and control of the fish processing establishments; the verification of all seafood exports from Kiribati; and offences and penalties. The objectives of the Agency are: (i) to conduct the verification and certification of the export of seafood, (ii) to ensure the application of appropriate quality control measures and seafood production industry standards; and (iii) to ensure the facilitation of exports from Kiribati of all categories of seafood for human consumption.
