Abstract
These Regulations, made under the provisions of the Public Health Act, Chapter 9.21, provide for restrictions on the establishment of offensive trades, concerning the following activities, and any other trade, business or manufacture the Minister may declare: blood or offal boiling or treating; bone boiling or crushing; chicken hatcheries, chicken farms or poultry units; candle making, where tallow is rendered on the premises; the curing, tanning or storing of hides; manufacture of material for manure or fertilisers; the slaughtering of animals or poultry; soap boiling or soap manufacture. The Regulations prescribe the necessary authorisation to carry on any activity related to offensive trade in a reasonable manner, in order to protect public health. The Regulations prevent anyone from keeping the hide of any animal offensive or injurious to the health of the individuals and the public. Specific measures concern offences, penalties and remedies for nuisance.
