Act on Urban Parks, Green Areas.

The purpose of this Act is to create a pleasant urban environment by prescribing matters necessary to expand, manage, and use parks and greenbelts in cities and to implement urban afforestation in order to ensure a healthy and cultural urban lifestyle and to improve public welfare. Article 3 establishes that where deemed necessary to expand parks and greenbelts and raise the level thereof, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport may designate any urban park or greenbelt creation project and any urban afforestation project as a pilot project and provide necessary support either ex officio or at the request of the heads of relevant central administrative agencies.
