Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to protect citizens from harm to their health by asbestos and enable citizens to live in a healthier and more comfortable environment by ensuring the safe management of asbestos. For the purpose of the present Act the term asbestos means a silicate mineral forming naturally in a fibrous form as specified by Ordinance of the Ministry of Environment; and the term asbestos-containing product means a product that contains asbestos, excluding products made by processing and transforming a material suspected of containing asbestos. The text consists of 49 articles divided into 8 Chapters as follows: General provisions (I); Master plans for management of asbestos (II); Management of asbestos-containing products (III); Management of naturally produced asbestos (IV); Management of asbestos in buildings (V); Management of surrounding environment of job sites for dismantlement of asbestos (VI); Supplementary provisions (VII); Penalty provisions (VIII).
