Abstract
The purpose of this Decree is to prescribe matters mandated by the Act on the Investigation, Planning, and Management of Water Resources and the matters necessary for the enforcement thereof.
The Decree details the procedures and requirements for managing water resources effectively. The decree also highlights the importance of international cooperation on water resources, including acquiring certifications and supporting standardization efforts. Specifically, the decree outlines the formulation of long-term comprehensive water resource plans, and river basin water resource management plans, which are essential for sustainable water management. These plans include objectives, strategies, and various aspects of water resource management such as water utilization, flood control, and environmental conservation. The Minister of Environment plays a key role in requesting data and materials from relevant institutions to support the formulation and modification of these plans. Public hearings are also required for stakeholder engagement and input on water resource management proposals.
