Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to promote environment-friendly, sustainable development and healthy and pleasant life of citizens by forecasting and assessing the environmental impacts of a plan or project and by formulating measures for environmental conservation when a plan or project that has an environmental impact is formulated and implemented. In particular, the Minister of Environment, the heads of planning agencies, the heads of agencies with authority for the approval for plans or projects and project implementers not subject to obtaining approval shall form and operate an Environmental Impact Assessment Council in order to deliberate the matters listed in article 8. The text consists of 76 articles.
