Abstract
The purpose of this Regulation is to prescribe detailed matters concerning the method and procedures for hazard evaluations (notification) of chemical substances and labelling for toxic chemicals under article 7, article 8, article 10, paragraph (2) of article 13 and article 28 of the Toxic Chemicals Control Act, article 2 and article 4 of the Presidential Decree on the Act, and articles 2 through 6, article 28 of the Ministerial Ordinance on the Act.
The Regulation consists of 32 articles divided into 8 Chapters: General Provisions (I); Preparation Method for Attachment Document for Hazard Evaluation (Notification) (II); Exemption from the Submission of Test Reports (III); Hazard Evaluation Method (IV); Announcement and Notice (V); Evaluation at Own Discretion (VI); Exemption from Application for Hazard Evaluation (Notification) (VII); Labelling of Toxic Chemicals (VIII).
Article 2 defines "Genetic toxicity" as "the property of inducing inheritable genetic defects to a living organism or accelerating their incidence". Article 3 defines the application sphere of this Regulation. The genetic toxicity test report shall contain bacteriological mutation test data and chromosomal aberration test data using cultured mammalian cells (art. 7). Article 13 concerns testing of assessment of genetic toxicity.
