Law No. 185-VII “On amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the issues of conservation and reproduction of Kazakh dog breeds”.

The following amendments and addenda shall be inserted in the Law No. 593 of 2004 on protection, reproduction and management of wildlife: Article 1 “Canine activity shall be intended activities related to training dogs of Kazakh breeds and their other preparation for practical use, including in sports and hunting, organization and conduct of zootechnical, sports and other public events using dogs of Kazakh breeds, training of experts and training of specialists to work with Kazakh dog breeds. Under training, drilling, conducting dogs of Kazakh breeds and other preparation for practical use should be understood as education and training of dogs of Kazakh breeds for work and (or) preparation for hunting, sports and field tests. Kazakh dog breeds – ancient breeds – Kazakh Tazy and Kazakh Tobet, corresponding to the approved standard of Kazakh dog breeds; standard of Kazakh dog breeds - description of dogs of Kazakh breeds according to exterior-constitutional characteristics and user qualities; unified pedigree book of dogs of Kazakh breeds shall be intended a set of data about dogs of Kazakh breeds indicating information about origin, breed, exterior-constitutional characteristics and other qualities; certificate of origin of a dog of the Kazakh breed shall be intended a document containing information about dog pedigree”. Article 6 “The basic principles of public administration in the field of conservation and reproduction of Kazakh dog breeds are: (a) ensuring the conservation and reproduction of Kazakh dog breeds; and (b) protection of purebred Kazakh dog breeds”. Article 32 “National hunting is the unarmed hunting of animal species that are object of recreational (sport) hunting, using birds of prey and Kazakh breed dogs”.
