Ministerial Decree No. 18-03/146 validating the Regulation on state protection of wild fauna.

State protection of wild fauna of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall be organized in the structures of the state body that performs the functions of management, control and supervision in the field of protection, reproduction and management of wild fauna species. The main tasks of state protection of wild fauna shall be as follows: (a) prevention and suppression of violations in the field of protection, reproduction and management of wild fauna; (b) referral to authorized, law enforcement and judicial authorities of information, claims and other materials on the facts of violations of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of protection, reproduction and management of wild fauna. State protection of wild fauna in order to perform the duties assigned thereto shall be granted the following rights: (a) to check the documents of individuals and legal entities related to fishing and hunting authorization; (b) to draw up reports on administrative offences in the field of protection, reproduction and management of wild fauna in accordance with the Code on administrative offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan; (c) detain and deliver to law enforcement bodies persons who have committed offences in the field of wild fauna conservation, reproduction and management; (d) to perform inspection in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan of vehicles, other facilities and places, and, if necessary, personal inspection of detained persons; (f) seize firearms from natural and legal persons, used in violation of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of the protection, reproduction and management of wild fauna, illegally obtained game and fishes, prohibited hunting gear; and (g) to wear uniform with insignia (without shoulder straps) and service weapons in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
