Decision No.6118 on water use.

This Notice, implementing the Law no. 23 of 2017 on Water and Water Resources, establishes principles and measures regarding management and monitoring of water use, permission to use surface water and underground water, through the issuance of licenses to operate water resource services, in order to ensure a safe, sustainable, efficient and reasonable use of water, as well as to protect water and water resources, and to contribute to agricultural and industrial production, transportation, and the socio-economic development of the nation. According to the Notice, use of water includes: irrigation, electricity generation, mining, recreational activities, sport and tourism, food processing, wastewater treatment system. Matters covered by this Notice concern: water utilisation in land use planning; conditions for issuance of permits to use surface water and underground water; water quality control; underground water survey; identification of projects and activities allowing the use of underground water; water inspection to prevent pollution in accordance to the environmental national standards.
