Regulation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment no. 1430 of 2023 concerning water quality management and wastewater discharge.

This Decree, implementing provisions of the Law no. 29/SNP of 2012 on environmental protection, and of the Law no. 23/SAP of 2017 on water and water resources, provides for defining methods, procedures and measures regarding the management of water quality and waste water discharge in compliance with the environmental standards, in order to reduce pollution and create a sustainable environment. The Decree concerns: monitoring of water quality in the rivers, lakes, canals, ponds, swamps, underground water; preparation of water quality management plan; risk assessment and monitoring of water quality; definition of water quality standards in various related activities, including: hydropower projects, discharge of wastewater from household; use of chemicals pesticides and fertilisers and their dumping; restoration of degraded and damaged water quality, due to natural disasters and to the human activity; preparation of waste water management plan, and wastewater treatment model; authorisation to discharge wastewater; inspection activity; collection of fees and environmental charges.
