Roles, Tasks and Authority of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, DAHSV (File No. 0353/MAF).

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science (DAHVS) is established under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, for the purpose of promoting the development of animal husbandry and veterinary science from the central to the local areas of the country. Fundamental tasks of the Department are, inter alia, to study and implement development strategies and policies, to promote new ways of exploiting the natural resources, to support farming by means of agricultural credit and utilization of international and domestic funds and to train staff and veterinarians. In order to achieve said tasks, the Decree establishes in Chapter II the rights of the Department and in Chapters III and IV, respectively, the organizational structure and the work system.
