Abstract
This Law regulates the management of toxic waste and hazardous substances listed in the Annex - resulting from their production, processing and use. The underlying principle is that solid, liquid and gaseous wastes that may cause detriment to man, soil, fauna and flora or that may pollute the air or water should be suitably treated. Such treatment includes collection, transportation, storage, sorting, recycling, destruction, incineration and, generally, all operations necessary to counter the noxious impact of waste. Depending on its nature, waste may be treated by the producer or by duly authorized public or private specialists. The importation, introduction, storage and transportation of radioactive waste and toxic chemical substances is strictly prohibited.
