Abstract
This Order, made under section 34(2) of the Physical Planning and Development Act, Cap. 5.12, provides for ensuring special protection to the Pitons Management Area as an Environmental Protection Area. The Order defines the following relevant terms: coastal area; Environmental Protection Area; landscape in relation to the environmental protection area. The Order concerns the following matters: declaration of environmental protection area; environmental impact assessment; environmental statement; prohibitions on mining operations within the protected area; restrictions on development activities; development activities within the various zones of the protected area; control of the use of land; integration of development into the forest; prohibition on planting invasive or alien species within the environmental protection area; sustainability measures.
