Abstract
This legislation establishes a comprehensive framework for the regulation of genetically modified, pathogenic, and non-native organisms, with the objective of preventing adverse effects on human health, animal welfare, plant life, and the environment. Emphasizing ethical considerations, the law promotes the responsible handling of such organisms and their by-products, aiming to safeguard ecological integrity and public interests. Key principles include the protection of biological diversity, the preservation of natural resources, the assurance of consumer autonomy, and the promotion of transparency and public awareness. Furthermore, the legislation acknowledges the significance of scientific research and integrates relevant provisions from EU directives on the contained use and deliberate release of genetically modified organisms.
