Abstract
The present Ordinance implements Water Protection Act 2003. The Ordinance aims to safeguard water bodies from contamination by regulating the storage, handling, and transportation of water-endangering liquids. It applies to various facilities such as storage tanks, transfer stations, and operational systems that may interact with water, soil, or the subsurface. The regulation establishes definitions and classifications for hazardous liquids, requires technical standards and inspections, and mandates safety measures like leak detection systems and corrosion protection. Strict rules apply especially in water protection zones, where installations are generally prohibited unless exceptional approval is granted. The text consists of 35 articles divided into 8 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Safeguard measures (II); Licensing and reporting requirements (III); Operation of facilities (IV); Testing of system parts and special works (V); Organization and implementation (VI); Penalties (VII); Transitional and final provisions (VIII).
