Abstract
This Act amends sections 7 and 8 of the Dangerous Animals Ordinance. In section 7, the sum of bond that the court may require the owner of a dangerous animal to furnish is increased from one thousand rupees to two hundred and fifty thousand rupees. In section 8, a proviso is added which requires that upon order of destruction of a dangerous animal, the destruction shall be carried out in a humane manner with no pain or suffering caused to the animal by a registered veterinary surgeon or registered veterinary practitioner or any other person referred to in paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of section 32 of the Veterinary Surgeons and Practitioners Act, No. 46 of 1956.
