Abstract
This Act amends the Forest Ordinance. The long title of the Forest Ordinance is repealed and substituted with "An ordinance to consolidate and amend the law relating to the conservation, protection and management of forest and forest resources; for the control of felling and transport of timber and forest produce; and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto."
The Minister may by Order publish in the Gazette and declare any specified area of state land or forest that has unique ecosystems or species of flora to be a conservation forest (sect. 2). The Minister may by Order declare that the limits of any conservation forest be altered or varied (sect. 3). There are also amendments concerning what constitutes an offence in a conservation forest and related penalties. The Act is completed by definitions of terms used including conservation forest and forest officer.
