Abstract
This Act amends the Poisons, Opium, Dangerous Drugs Ordinance (principal enactment). Sections 28 and 29 of the principal enactment, relating to trade, possession and use of poppy, coca and hemp plants, are repealed and substituted. Section 37 relating to use of premises for consuming opium is substituted. Sections 49 and 50 of the principal enactment are repealed. New sections 54A and 54B are added which prohibit manufacture, trafficking, import, export and possession of dangerous drugs. Sections 69 and 77 are amended. Section 77A and 77B are added in respect of analysis of samples and protection of informers. Section 78 and 79 are amended and new sections 78A and 79A are added. New sections 82 and 83 relating to offences are added after section 81 of the principal enactment. The Third Schedule to the principal enactment is amended.
