Lesotho Highlands Development Authority Compensation Regulations 2017 (L.N. No. 9 of 2017).

These Regulations of the Minister responsible for Water made under the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority Order provide rules for the awarding and payment of compensation and relocation requirements by the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority for land acquisition or occupation related to Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project. Land includes arable land. The Authority shall provide food gardens to all households relocated to project designated sites up to a maximum of 300 square metres, irrespective of whether they had a food garden or not. The affected communities shall be compensated for loss of assets where such loss has been brought about by the project.
