Abstract
This Plan is designed further to the European Parliament Directive on Flood Risk Management (2007/60/EC) with the aim to provide a framework for the assessment and management of flood risks in order to reduce the adverse effects of floods on human health, the environment, cultural heritage and economic activities. The Plan contains information for controlling the performance of high water sources; preparation of flood hazard and flood risk maps; preparation of flood risk management plan; and the strategy for dealing with heavy rainfall that represents a further measure for climate change adaptation. The text provides for schedule and stages of implementation of the FRMD; information and public participation; climatic conditions; land use; commerce and industry; and river basin districts in Luxembourg. Chapter 3 of the text provides for flood hazard and flood risk maps and implementation of the project by considering the environmental impact assessment. Chapter 5 outlines regionalization of flood discharges and project of flood hazard and flood risk maps. The text further discusses about assessment of flood risk, updating of the flood risk management, and goals of flood risk management and measures that includes prevention, protection, and preparedness for flood risk management. The Plan is designed in 7 Chapters.
