Abstract
This Law, comprising 35 articles, seeks to regulate the Agricultural Bank, an institution aimed at (i) promoting agricultural and livestock production in Libya, with objectives including providing financial and material assistance to individuals and entities engaged in agricultural and livestock activities, prioritizing full-time farmers, public institutions, companies, and partnerships involved in such activities, as well as public agricultural projects; (ii) implementing support plans for agricultural and livestock production; (iii) establishing and participating in related companies and facilities; (iv) facilitating necessary imports for agricultural and animal production; (v) conducting transactions to achieve the bank’s goals, including property ownership; and (vi) offering other agricultural and animal production-related services as agreed upon with relevant authorities. A People's Committee supervises the bank's operations, managing its affairs and decision-making, especially in crafting its general policy, endorsing yearly budgets, loans, and credit extensions, forming or joining associated enterprises, drafting internal rules, monitoring regular reports, and addressing management-related issues. The Secretary of the People's Committee oversees all bank activities, exercising authority as prescribed by this law and its accompanying regulations.
