Abstract
This Resolution, comprising 4 articles, changes the name of the Authority, which is currently known as the General Authority for Marine Fishing. The General Fishing Authority is tasked with developing and proposing state policies concerning marine fishing activities and related industrial and service sectors, overseeing their implementation. Its main functions include (i) proposing and monitoring programs aligned with state policies for marine fishing and complementary activities; (ii) creating and monitoring a national program for marine fishing sector development; (iii) evaluating production units related to marine fishing and taking appropriate actions, as well as maintaining a public register of marine fishing units; (iv) promoting investment in marine fishing; (v) overseeing infrastructure projects for the fishing sector; (vi) implementing legislation for fish stock protection; (vii) conducting consultations, studies, and designs for marine fishing projects; (viii) organizing and supervising marine fishing activities and setting regulations; (ix) granting approvals for marine fishing units for fishing, investment, or conservation abroad; (x) compiling a database on marine fishing activity; (xi) conducting maritime inspections and issuing sailing permissions; (xii) developing plans to address pollution, diseases, and epidemics in fisheries; (xiii) implementing guidance programs, awareness campaigns, and worker training; (xiv) supervising fishing ports and harbors; (xv) participating in regional and international organizations and implementing agreements; (xvi) issuing fishing licenses in Libyan waters and declared fishing protection zones; (xvii) monitoring sponge sources, regulating harvesting seasons, and protecting them, together with managing marine reserves and constructing artificial coral reefs; (xviii) supervising the marketing of marine products for local needs and export surplus; (xix) developing the marine fishing fleet and adopting modern technologies.

Notes
This Resolution amends the General People’s Committee Resolution No. 159 of 2007 establishing the General Authority for Marine Wealth. In particular, article 7 and 13 are cancelled.
