Abstract
This Decree regulates issuance of authorization for import and export of wild flora and fauna species, components and derivates thereof, and also import, export or re-export of wild flora and fauna species covered by CITES. The aforesaid operation shall be carried out by natural and legal persons in accordance with authorization and phytosanitary and veterinary inspection proceedings. Wild plants and animals grown in captivity for commercial purposes or export also shall be subject to the provisions of the present Decree. Biological resources shall have not been exported within the period of time specified in the authorization shall be stored in special storage facilities. In case of export of species covered by CITES the exporter must obtain CITES certificate issued by the administrative body. CITES certificates shall be issued for the following purposes: (a) trade; (b) scientific exchange between specialized institutions; (c) captive breeding; and (d) circensian performances.
