Decree No. 9 of the Ministry of Public Health and Welfare amending Sanitary requirements for import of alimentary raw materials and foodstuffs set by the Ministry of Public Health.

Item 2.3 is amended to add the following phrase: “2.3 Hygienic expertise and the issuance of sanitary and epidemiological expert opinion (hygienic certificate) for import and distribution on internal market of food additives, food for special dietary use, foodstuffs containing specification of nutritional value and presence of GMO shall be carried out by the National Scientific and Practical Centre of Preventive Medicine, and for other categories of foodstuffs by municipal and district centres of preventive medicine. Time limit for carrying out expertise and issuance of sanitary and epidemiological expert opinion (hygienic certificate) is 10 days from the date of submittal of requested documentation. In complex cases deadline can be extended to 20 days”.
