Abstract
The national health strategy (NHS) "Health 2030" is a component of the social-economic policies of the state, oriented towards the modernization and long-term development of the health system, with an implementation period until the year 2030. In the Republic Moldova, health represents a national priority, which is both a goal in itself and a primary premise for achieving the objectives of sustainable economic development and favorable to social inclusion. The NHS includes a complex health system transformation agenda that reflects the state's ambition to create a world-class, patient-centered, resilient health system. From this perspective, NHS deepens the major aspects concerning the field of health contained in the National Development Strategy "European Moldova 2030". The global strategic objective of Moldova in the field of health is to improve the health of the population through the active contribution of a modern and efficient health system that responds to the needs of each individual. Being oriented towards the national vision 2030, which is centered on the quality of life, NHS traces the trajectory of development and reform of the health sector, as one of the 10 sectoral components included in European Moldova 2030.
One of the issues of the development of the national health system regards surveillance, monitoring and evaluation of non-communicable diseases and behavioral risk factors (nutrition and physical activity, tobacco and alcohol consumption). Population health and health services indicators include control over zoonotic events and food safety, including food risks. The health protection component will aim at institutional and operational capacity building to ensure healthy living and working conditions, as well as preventing the spread of communicable diseases and epidemics. It will comply with European standards, safety and quality regulations related to food, water, air and the general environment, in addition to controlling outbreaks of communicable diseases, epidemics and other incidents that may threaten public health, such as exposure to harmful chemicals or radiation.
