Government Decree No. HG1211/2018 validating the Statute of the public institution "Republican Veterinary Diagnostic Center".

This Statute regulates the mission, areas of competence, functions and rights of the public Institution “Republican Veterinary Diagnostic Center”, as well as the organization of its activity. The Center is a public institution in which the National Agency for Food Safety exercises the function of founder. The center has the mission of coordinating and organizing activities aimed at ensuring the implementation of public policies in the fields of competence established by this Statute. The Center is the national reference laboratory in the field of veterinary (animal feedstuffs) and food safety. The areas of competence of the Center are the following: (a) laboratory investigations in the field of animal health; (b) laboratory investigations in the field of food safety and quality, as well as safety and quality of animal feedstuffs; (c) laboratory investigations for the purpose of verifying the safety and hygiene criteria for operators from the food chain; (d) laboratory investigations in the field of checking the quality and safety of veterinary drugs; (d) risk assessment and scientific research in the fields of activity; and (e) other areas assigned by normative acts, including the acts of the founder, pertaining to the competence of the Center.
