Abstract
The main goal of the Program is the solution of the following important tasks: (a) creation and improvement of the scientific and technical base for the implementation of land improvement works until 2013 and its constant updating; (b) creation of the soil quality information system by the end of 2013 and the constant updating of the database; (c) prevention of the development of active forms of soil degradation on an area of 877 thousand hectares of arable land until the end of 2020; and (d) implementation of soil fertility preservation and improvement methods on 1.7 mln. until 2020.
Arrangements related to the Program implementation tasks: (a) creation and improvement of the scientific and technical base for the implementation of land improvement works until 2013 and its constant updating; (b) creation of the soil quality information system by the end of 2013 and the constant updating of the database; this task will be carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry together with the Agency of Land Relations and Cadastre. It envisages: (а) creation of an information system of soil quality and constant renewal of the data bank with new materials of soil and agrochemical studies; (b) systematization and generalization of information on soil quality and its entry into the database of the information system; and (с) development of the mechanism for transmitting the final information about soil quality to consumers; (c) prevention of the development of active forms of soil degradation on an area of 877 thousand hectares of arable land until the end of 2020; and (d) implementation of soil fertility preservation and improvement methods on 1.7 mln. until 2020.
Soil conservation works will be carried out by the Land Relations and Land Cadastre Agency and the "Moldsilva" Agency. Agricultural technologies, beneficial to the environment, will be applied by local public administration bodies. Measures to improve soil fertility will be implemented by local public administration bodies. Training, re-training of agricultural specialists and informing the population about the preservation and improvement of soil fertility will be conducted by the relevant specialized institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, and the Ministry of the Environment and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
