Governmental Decree No. HG149/2021 validating the Regulation on the organization and functioning of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

Regulation on the organization and functioning of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection regulates the mission, functions, areas of activity and powers, as well as organization of the functioning thereof. The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection is the central specialized body of public administration, which ensures the implementation of state policy in the areas of activity entrusted to it. The mission of the Ministry is to analyze the situation and problems in the managed areas of activity, develop effective public policies in the areas, monitor the quality of policies and regulations and propose reasonable state interventions that will lead to effective decisions in areas of competence, ensuring the best balance between the expected results and anticipated costs. The Ministry performs the functions established by this Regulation in the following areas: (a) labour; (b) social protection; and (c) demography.
