Abstract
This Law establishes: (a) the purpose and tasks of the agricultural chambers; (b) the principles of activity of agricultural chambers; (c) the functions and duties of the agricultural chambers; (d) the procedure for establishment, organization and functioning of agricultural chambers; (e) the rules regarding the governing bodies of agricultural chambers and their activity; and (f) the financing of the activity of agricultural chambers. The purpose of this Law is: (a) ensuring the development of an efficient and relevant agricultural institutional system for achieving development priorities for the agricultural sector and the rural development; (b) creating a legal framework favourable to the development and operation of the national agricultural chamber system in the context of accession to the European Union; and (c) supporting the development of the agricultural community and promoting the integration of new technologies, innovations and good practices in agricultural processes. Agricultural chamber shall be intended autonomous, apolitical and non-profit professional organization, with the status of a legal entity under public law, created with the aim of representing and protecting the interests of farmers. The agricultural chambers aim to consolidate and promote an efficient and sustainable dialogue between the agricultural community and public authorities, focused on the sustainable development of the agricultural sector and the rural environment.
