Ministerial Decree No. 431 validating the Statute of the state ecological inspection.

This Ministerial Decree establishes that the State Ecological Inspection shall be the authorized state institution in the sphere of environmental protection. The state ecological inspectors shall have the duty to ensure enforcement of the environmental legislation. The state ecological inspector shall have service identity card, uniform and duty weapon. The inspector shall supervise over forest and water resources and shall have the following rights: (a) to suspend any activity not complying with the provisions of environmental legislation; (b) to suspend or to prohibit projecting, construction, management of natural resources without positive outcome of the state environmental audit; and (c) lay claims for the compensation of damages caused by environmental pollution.
