Ministerial Decree No. 541 validating the Regulation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.

This Ministerial Decree establishes that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry shall be central authorized institution carrying out common state policy in the sphere of agriculture and food industry and shall be responsible for the development of the aforesaid spheres and socio-economic structure thereof. The Ministry shall carry out the following functions: (a) elaboration and implementation of state agricultural policy; (b) ensuring food security as regards quality, quantity and availability of foodstuffs; (c) licensing of some activities; (d) monitoring of internal agrarian market; (e) elaboration of technical rules and regulations for agriculture and food industry; (f) carrying out soil improvement and soil rehabilitation arrangements; and (g) carrying out plant protection and animal protection arrangements.
