Ministerial Decree No. 703 validating the Regulation on the Ministry of Ecology, Construction and Land Use Planning.

This Ministerial Decree establishes that the Ministry of Ecology, Construction and Land Use Planning shall be authorized state institution in the sphere of environmental protection, rational management of natural resources, conservation of biological diversity, land use planning and municipal services. The main functions of the Ministry shall be: (a) elaboration and implementation of the state strategy; (b) elaboration of the state programs within its sphere of competence; (c) introduction of environmental issues in the process of economic reforms; (d) enforcement of environmental legislation; (e) licensing; (f) coordination of research activity in the sphere of environmental protection; (g) information management; (h) prevention of natural disasters; (j) environmental audit; and (k) registration of natural resources.
