Ministerial Decree No.284 of Red Book.

This Ministerial Decree establishes that the State Committee on Environmental Protection with the participation of the Academy of Sciences, Forest Agency and Fisheries Agency shall be responsible for keeping register of rare and endangered animal and plant species – Red Book of the Republic of Moldova. Red Book must contain complete data on rare and endangered species and populations necessary for elaboration and realization of the arrangements for conservation and rational use thereof. Special Interdepartmental commission shall be set up for the analysis of the current state of rare and endangered species and elaboration of proposals for insertion of species in Red Book and cancellation of species therefrom. Species permanently inhabiting the national territory or growing thereon shall be subject to recording in Red Book. Hunting and catch of animals, harvest and collection of plants recorded in Red Book shall be prohibited.
