United Nations Framework Program for Sustainable Development. Republic of Moldova 2023-2027.

United Nations Framework Program for Sustainable Development (UNSDSD) for 2023-2027 is an agreement concluded between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the United Nations system on expanding cooperation and increasing scale of results of the previous framework programs to help the country in solving development problems and eliminating obstacles to a more inclusive socio-economic development and achievement of the national priorities set out in the National Development Strategy (NDS) “Moldova 2030”.
United Nations Framework Program for Sustainable Development (UNSDSD) for 2023-2027 sets out the following objectives: (a) fair and inclusive institutions and equal opportunities for human development; (b) shared governance and social cohesion; (c) increased overall well-being in conditions of sustainable economy; and (d) green development, sustainable communities and confrontation the risk of natural disasters and climate change.
As part of the strategic priority Fair and Inclusive Institutions and Equal Opportunities for Human Development, the United Nations system in Moldova intends to support the government in reducing multidimensional poverty. Particular attention will be paid to ensuring gender equality. In this regard, partners intend to consolidate their efforts to support progress towards several targets, including those related to women's access to gender-sensitive health and prevention services.
Increased attention will be paid to food security and healthy nutrition from the perspective of developing sustainable food systems.
By supporting the country's progress towards a green economy, the UNSDSD will facilitate the integration of innovative solutions for emissions reduction, climate change resilience and green enterprise development, which should positively impact related energy efficiency targets and improve the sustainability and competitiveness of agricultural producers.
