Abstract
This Law prescribes various provisions aimed to define and regulate the forest sector in Montenegro.
This Law defines: that forest is any area covered with forest trees or surfaces on which, due to its natural characteristics and economic conditions, it is rational to grow forest trees; that forests are natural resources and part of the public welfare and should be renewed, maintained and used under the terms and conditions in order to ensure the permanent preservation and increase of their natural values and ecological functions, protection from harmful consequences; that forest are state and/or private ownership; that forest owners can be legal and/or natural person.
The Law is divided into VIII Chapters and 76 articles, including inspection, offences and related penalties.
